Edwardian ruby and diamond cluster ring. Vertically set with a step cut diamond shape natural unenhanced ruby to centre with a weight of 0.35 carats and a drop shape step cut natural unenhanced ruby with a weight of 0.40 carats, both in open back grain settings with a total approximate ruby weight of 0.75 carats, surrounded by a single row of thirty one round old cut diamonds in open back grain and millegrain settings with an approximate combined diamond weight of 0.40 carats, all to an elegant cluster with an openwork gallery and backholing, to inward tapered shoulders and a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold and platinum, circa 1905.
