Edwardian sapphire and diamond ring. Set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire to centre in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 1.00 carats, set to top and bottom with two drop shape old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.60 carats, further enhanced with twenty six cushion shape mixed old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 1.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.80 carats, to a vertical cluster, the gallery exhibiting ornate scrollwork with fancy shape backholing and on a D-shape shank. Tested platinum and yellow gold, circa 1910.
