Edwardian opal and diamond three stone ring. Horizontally set with three oval cabochon natural unenhanced opals in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.63 carats, embellished with four round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.12 carats, to an intricately carved three stone ring with curving claws, ribbed gallery and oval backholing, flanked by shoulders with engraved scroll details which flow down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, full English hallmarks for Birmingham, maker's mark 'WPW' for William Phillip Whiteman, English, circa 1912.
