Description

Edwardian diamond and ruby cluster ring. Set slightly raised to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back platinum rubover millegrain setting with a weight of 0.60 carats, encircled by a single row of ten round star top natural unenhanced rubies in open back yellow gold rubover millegrain settings with a combined weight of 1.50 carats, further encircled with a row of ten cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back platinum rubover millegrain settings with a combined weight of 1.80 carats, with ten round rose cut diamonds to the shoulders in open back platinum grain settings with a combined weight of 0.15 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.55 carats, all to an oval cluster form with pierced openwork between the floraform rows and set to an ornate intricate scrolled gallery, leading to elegant split motif shoulders and a solid ridged shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1905.
