Ceylon sapphire and diamond flanked solitaire ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Ceylon sapphire in an open back claw setting, with an approximate weight of 2.33 carats, flanked by ten round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.10 carats, to an elegant flanked solitaire design featuring curving double corner claws, a pierced gallery and open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders with foliate motif, tapering to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum and yellow gold, circa 1915, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #81285-67.
