Bulgari Alveare diamond hoop earrings. A matching pair, each consisting of forty two round brilliant cutdiamonds of various sizes in open backgrain settings, eighty four in total with a combined approximate weight of 1.70 carats, to a tapering elongated hoop featuring an open modular design, polished and diamond set intervals with hidden backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure post and hinged clip fitting. Marked 18 carat gold, signed 'BVLGARI', numbered '2337AL', full Italian hallmarks, circa 1988.
The popularity of the innovative Bulgari Parentesi collection in 1982 inspired the creation of additional designs which applied the modular concept. The Alveare collection which debuted in 1988 embraced this distinctive structure and was met with extraordinary success. Inspired by the patterning of a beehive, the Alveare collection couples stylised motifs with Bulgari craftsmanship, making these pieces timeless.
