Belle Époque diamonddrop earrings. A matching pair, each suspending a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open backclaw setting, two in total, with a weight of 1.40 carats and 1.50 carats, further adorned with three cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings, six in total, with a combined weight of 0.70 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 3.60 carats, to an articulated drop earring flowing with movement, featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery, millegrain edging and open backholing, fitted to reverse with a secure curving shepherd's hook with hinged back fitting, approximately 2.4cm in length. Marked 18 carat yellow gold and platinum, French control marks, circa 1900.
