Bailey, Banks and Biddleopal and diamond three stone ring. Set to the center with an oval cabochonnatural unenhanced crystal opal in an open backclaw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, set either side with one cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting, two in total, with a combined weight of 1.20 carats, further set with four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.34 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.54 carats, to an elegant three stone design with curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy shaped backholing, flanked by diamond set trumpeting shoulders, flowing through to a chamfered solid shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, makers mark 'BB&B' for Bailey, Banks and Biddle, numbered '6591', American, circa 1890.
