Art Nouveau carved locket ring. Set with an oval flat hinged locket to centre flanked by decorative carved foliate shoulders, oak leaves to one side and laurel leaves to the other, to a heavy etched conforming D-shape band. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, indistinct maker's mark, French, circa 1900.
In the Victorian language of flowers, oak leaves were known to denote bravery and laurel leaves signify achievement.
