Art Deco old cut diamond solitaire ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with a weight of 0.70 carats, flanked by six square step cut diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.00 carats, to a geometric solitaire design featuring an octagonal collet with stylised curving corner claws, a linear gallery and fancy open backholing, the stepped shoulders graduating to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, French, circa 1935.
