Art Deco cabochon amethyst and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a natural unenhanced round cabochon amethyst in an open back rubover millegrain setting with an approximate weight of 12.00 carats, flanked by two horizontally set rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover millegrain settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats, and further set with a cluster of twelve round old single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.60 carats, to an elegant tapered form with ornate scrolling openwork detail and intricate leaf pattern and floral engraving, continuing down the trumpeted pierced shoulders to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, circa 1920.
