Antique star ruby and diamond locket ring. Set to centre with a round natural unenhanced Burmese cabochon star ruby with an approximate weight of 1.00 carat within a grain set star shape collet, flanked by two round old cut diamonds similarly set in grain star collets with an approximate combined weight of 0.10 carats, set to a curved and shaped heavy band leading to a solid tapered shank. The upper opens with side hinge to reveal open backed stones and a secret locket set with woven hair, the reverse engraved 'Hilda' - a memorial ring. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'A&W', circa 1860.
