Antique sapphire and diamond seven stone ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with a weight of 0.80 carats, further set to the shoulders with two round old cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 1.00 carats, alternated by four round old single cut diamonds in open back grain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate sapphire weight is 1.80 carats, to an elegant graduated form with scalloped curving fluted claws and intricate pierced backholing, flanked by scrolling engraving to the shoulders and tapering down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'M&M', circa 1900.
