Antique sapphire and diamond ring. Set to centre with one oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, decorated by sixty two round single cut diamonds in open back grain and rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.75 carats, to an elegantly formed cluster with an open gallery featuring scrolling open work and shaped backholing, enhanced throughout with millegrain edging flanked by trumpeting diamond set shoulders with leaf motifs continuing down to a solid ridged shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1905, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5776-6050.
