Antique sapphire and diamond carved five stone ring. Horizontally set with three cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.10 carats, alternated by two round old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.80 carats, further adorned with eight round rose cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.05 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.85 carats, to a carved half hoop design featuring curving claws, an intricately carved gallery with scrolling details and fancy shape open backholing, flanked by trumpeting shoulders with engraved details, flowing down to a solid tapering D-shape shank. Tested 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1900, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) report #5782-1258.
