Antique ruby and diamond marquise cluster ring. Vertically and centrally set with three cushion shape star top natural unenhanced rubies in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.40 carats, surrounded and flanked by sixteen round old cut diamonds in open back claw and grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.64 carats, to an elegant marquise cluster with fine curving claws, intricately pierced open gallery and shaped backholing, the slightly raised shoulders terminate to champfered details before smoothing to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat red gold with platinum settings, indistinct maker's mark, numbered '21250', French, circa 1905.
