Antique ruby and diamond coronet cluster ring. Centrally set with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.55 carats, encircled and flanked by fourteen cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.65 carats, to an elegant cluster with curving claws, intricately pierced gallery and circular backholing, the trumpeting shoulders terminating to a solid shank. Marked 18 carat red gold, maker's mark 'CB', Austrian, circa 1890.
