Antiqueruby and diamondcluster ring. Set to centre with one cushion shape old minenatural unenhanced ruby in an open backclaw setting with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, decorated with twelve cushion shape old mine cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 1.70 carats, further surrounded by twelve round rose cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.24 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.94 carats, to an ornate cluster design featuring a finely pierced scalloped gallery, shaped backholing, the trumpeting open shoulders intricately carved with ribbed scrolling details which flow down to a solid ridged shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1840.
