Set with three round cabochon natural unenhanced white opals in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.10 carats, interspersed with four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.24 carats, to a graduating design with intricately pierced openwork gallery, ornately carved scrollwork and shaped backholing, the trumpeting split open shoulders flowing to gently recessed ribbing before terminating in a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1890.
