Antique diamond set snake ring. Set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back grain setting with a weight of 1.00 carats, and two round rose cut diamonds to the eyes in closed back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.02 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.02 carats, to a solid, sinuous snake design with finely engraved details to the head and the tail smoothly conforming twice around the finger. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, approximately 19.3g in weight, indistinct maker's mark, numbered '5709', French, circa 1890.
