Antique diamond cluster ring by Birks of Canada. Set centrally with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back grain setting with a weight of 0.60 carats, encircled by six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain and claw settings with a combined weight of 1.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.80 carats, to a fancy oval cluster with curving claws, a scalloped pierced gallery and intricate backholing, flanked by shaped shoulders and leading down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'BIRKS', Canadian, circa 1890.
