Antique Burmese ruby and diamond ring. Set to centre with an oval old cut natural unenhanced Burmese ruby in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.50 carats, encircled by two rows of round old cut diamonds, the inner row in open back claw settings and the outer row in open back grain and rubover settings, all thirty eight with an approximate combined weight of 2.60 carats, to an ornate openwork form with outward pointed motifs to top and bottom, conforming smoothly to the finger with intricate pierced backholing, leading down the shoulders to a tapered D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1905, accompanied by Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #07247.
