Ancient Roman gold ring with cameo. An oval soapstone carved cameo of a female face or mask is set to centre to a closed backrubover setting with an extremely intricate scalloped openwork protruding decorative bezel, flanked by three bead granulated clusters to the shoulders leading to a ridged conforming solid shank. Tested yellow gold, circa 1st-2nd century AD, accompanied by Oxford Labs X-ray Fluorescence report.
This is a museum quality ring, and a very skilful example of Ancient Roman craftsmanship and is in fine condition, commensurate with its age.
