 Description

Victorian diamond five stone ring. Set horizontally with five cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 2.55 carats, adorned further with eight round rose cut diamonds in closed back grain and rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.63 carats, to an elegant five stone design featuring curving claws, an ornately carved gallery with scrolling motifs and open backholing, leading to carved shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, tested silver, maker's mark 'J.Mc.A' for J.McArthur, marked 'SM' 'BDL 'I' 'D', circa 1900.
