Director's Notes

Founded in Paris in 1780, Chaumet became jeweller to Napoleon and Empress Joséphine, establishing an enduring association with royalty and exceptional gemstones. Renowned for its magnificent tiaras, the Maison moved to 12 Place Vendôme in 1907, where it attracted an increasingly international clientele.

Among them were Indian princes, including the Maharajas of Baroda and Indore, who entrusted Chaumet with their important gemstones to be transformed into fashionable European-style platinum jewels. Antique drop-shaped diamonds featured prominently in Chaumet’s early creations, lending height to tiaras, movement to necklaces and grace to rings such as this one.
