This diamond ring has remained within the Collins family for several generations and, according to family history, is believed to have originated with John Collins, a prominent architect associated with Liverpool and Sheffield.

John Collins is known to have undertaken significant architectural work for J. Bibby & Sons Ltd. of Liverpool, including the design of their substantial warehouse on Great Howard Street, Liverpool, which was documented in 'The Architects’ Journal' in 1925.

The ring is understood to have subsequently passed through the family to John Collins’s son, the Reverend Frederick Henry Collins, and his wife, Constance Mary Collins. Reverend Collins was a Church of England clergyman with connections to Erith, Kent, and Sheffield. He served as Vicar of East Boldre in the New Forest from at least 1935 until 1953 and is also recorded as having officiated at services in the neighboring parish of Beaulieu.

Its long-standing retention within the family, together with the documented history of the Collins family, provides a notable family provenance for the piece.
