Victorian sapphire and diamond seven stone ring. Set with three cushion shape old cutnatural unenhanced sapphires in open backclaw settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.95 carats, alternately set with four cushion shape old minediamonds with a combined weight of 0.10 carats, to a seven stone design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery with ridged detailing and fancy open backholing, leading to trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a solid D-shapeshank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, full hallmarks for Chester, makers mark 'RN', English, 1893.
The ring has been assessed by our in house gemmologist. The sapphires are natural with no indication of heat treatment and are most likely to originate from old mines of Ceylon.
