Sapphire and diamond crossover ring. Set with a cushion shape old cut natural no heat sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 2.00 carats, further set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.70 carats, further adorned by six cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.54 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.24 carats, to an impressive crossover design featuring curving claws, an open gallery and fancy open backholing, leading to sinuous trumpeting shoulders and flowing through to a tapering D-shape shank. Marked 18 yellow carat gold and settings tested platinum, indistinct maker's mark, French, early 20th Century, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services (GCS) report #5786-4135.
