Sapphire and diamond crossover ring. Set with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.40 carats, further set with a round old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.35 carats, and decorated with six round old cut diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.55 carats, to an elegant crossover design featuring curving claws, a pierced gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to a-symmetric shoulders which flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 14 carat rose gold, partial maker's mark 'E/F?G', assay mark for Vienna, Austro-Hungarian, circa 1910.
