Renowned for their delicate and unique colour, which is a blend of pink and orange, their name is derived from the Sinhalese word 'padmaraga' referring to the colour of a lotus flower. Historically only found in Ceylon, which is also known as "the jewel box of the Indian Ocean", today these beautiful orangey-pink sapphires can also be found in Madagascar, Tanzania and Vietnam.
