Set to centre with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.45 carats, surrounded by ten cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats and decorated to the shoulders with two cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.10 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.05 carats, to an elegant coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, a pierced gallery and fancy shape open backholing, leading to angular shoulders which flow through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested yellow gold, partial hallmarks for Birmingham, English, 1887.
