Belle Époque Sapphire coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a cushion shape old cut natural no heat sapphire in an open back claw setting with weight of 1.95 carats, encircled by twelve cushion shape old mine diamonds in an open back claw settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.45 carats, to a coronet cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced gallery and fancy shape open backholing, flanked by tapering shoulders flowing through to a solid tapering D-shape shank. Tested platinum and 18 carat rose gold, French, circa 1910.

The ring has been assessed by our in house gemmologist. The sapphire is natural no heat and likely to originate from Basaltic mines setting permitting.
Basaltic deposits originate deep within the Earth's mantle and are brought to the surface by basalt volcanic activity. The Their iron rich geological environment produces characteristically rich, saturated blues, often with velvety depth. Notable basaltic sapphire deposits are found in Thailand region.
