Art Deco sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a square step-cut natural no heat sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 1.40 carats, encircled by fourteen round eight cut diamonds in open back grain settings, with a combined approximate weight of 0.28 carats, further set with ten tapering rectangular step cut diamonds in channel settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.58 carats, to a geometric cluster design featuring smooth borders, a linear open gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by raised shoulders flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1935.
