Art Deco sapphire and diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with an oval shape mixed cut natural no heat sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.55 carats, further set with four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back rubover settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.60 carats, further surrounded by eight round eight cut diamonds in open back rubover and grain settings with a combined weight of 0.25 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.85 carats, to an openwork cluster design featuring scalloped edges with millegrain detail, an elegantly pierced gallery with cheniers, and fancy open backholing, leading to raised shoulders which flow through to a slim D-shape shank. Tested platinum, circa 1930.
