Diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a round old cut diamond in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 0.85 carats, further set with sixteen round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.32 carats, further adorned with twenty rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back channel settings with a combined weight of 0.90 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 2.07 carats, to a striking openwork cluster design featuring curving claws, an intricately pierced geometric gallery and fancy open backholing, flanked by trumpeting split shoulders flowing through to a solid D-shaped shank. Marked platinum and iridium, numbered '1096' American, circa 1940.
