John Brogden gold bracelet. A hollow gold curb bracelet consisting of sixteen hollow links, fitted with a secure integrated push clasp and safety chain, approximately 8.5" in length. Tested yellow gold, approximately 48.32 grams in weight, maker's mark 'J B' for John Brogden, English, circa 1870, accompanied by original fitted box.

Elinor Mary Stuart (1874-1917), and thence by descent. Elinor Mary Stuart (1874-1917) née Chaytor, born Blenheim, Marlborough, New Zealand was the daughter of John Clervaux Chaytor and Emma Chaytor. She married Percy Watt Stuart in 1906.
This piece is in good condition commensurate with its age. Some of the links have experienced wear in keeping with normal use.
John Brogden was among the most accomplished jewellers of the Victorian era, continuing his family’s long-standing tradition in the craft. Alongside the firm of Giuliano, he produced some of the finest English examples of revival-style jewellery. His workshop achieved international recognition at exhibitions in London and Paris, celebrated for archaeological and classical revival designs distinguished by intricate wirework, delicate granulation, enamel detailing, and emblematic Victorian motifs. Brogden’s artistry earned him numerous honours, including the French Légion d’Honneur, as well as the distinction of holding a Royal Warrant.
