Antique fine jewellery has long been appreciated by societies all over the world, seen as important and valuable commodities as well as treasured heirlooms.

The significant history behind each piece of antique fine jewellery only adds to its value.

Created in an era long before mass production, each piece of antique fine jewellery in our collection has been carefully handcrafted with a level of detail that is largely unparalleled in modern equivalents. The character and expertise that was innate in antique fine jewellery meant that each piece was unique and personal to the wearer. As the level of craftsmanship seen in the past is rarely found, the value of antique fine jewellery is retained and is likely to appreciate in value for the foreseeable future.

Located in the heart of Hatton Garden, our entire jewellery collection includes stunning pieces of jewellery from as early as 5BC through to the 1970’s. With our collection of antique fine jewellery, you will find a piece to treasure no matter your budget.

Encompassing a wide range of jewellery items each fulfilling a unique purpose. From wearable accessories to classic objets d’art there are some unusual and creative pieces to be found.

The chatelaine pendant/belt buckle is an ornate accessory which in 16th century Europe was reserved for nobility. Worn on a belt or at the waist, a chatelaine consists of a central pendant suspending a number of chains. Each chain is connected to a useful household item, such as scissors, keys, thimbles and house seals. By the 19th century, chatelaines were worn by housekeepers of prestigious and large households. As a housekeeper, chatelaines not only brought status but allowed household duties to be completed more proficiently throughout the day.

For the gentleman, classic tie pins featuring jewel encrusted motifs are favoured. Unique examples can be found within our collection which include diamonds, rubies, sapphires and pearls. Worn just below the knot of the tie, these accessories would provide a gift for the gent who has it all.

For cocktails that ooze sophistication, mix them with one of Berganza’s gold or silver swizzle sticks. Cocktails were popular during the Edwardian times and then later resurfaced as the beverage of choice in the 1940s through to the 1970s. Cocktail swizzle sticks feature a sliding mechanism which reveals the prongs used for mixing and create a stylish element to any cocktail party.

Other accessories such as elegant cigarette holders, enamelled belt buckles, thimbles made in precious metals, hair ornaments, scarf rings, clips, pouches and ladies dress sets are all found within our catalogue of unique items. All are handcrafted and finished with the finest details expected in antique and vintage craftsmanship.
