Jean-Claude Janot is a distinguished French workshop renowned for their exceptional craftsmanship, particularly for their work with Cartier during the 1980s.

Jean-Claude Janot played a key role in crafting Cartier's iconic Panthère jewels, especially in the 1980s. The Panthère motif, a sleek panther design, became a signature symbol of Cartier, originally popularized by Jeanne Toussaint in the mid-20th century. Janot's work involved meticulously creating these pieces with exceptional technical skill and artistry, often using the finest gemstones and detailed metalwork to bring the lifelike panther motif to life.

His maker’s mark on pieces authenticates their superior quality and artistry, marking them as not just jewellery but collectible works of art representative of Cartier’s high standards during that era.
