Set with three in settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.45 , further set with four round brilliant cut in open back with a combined approximate weight of 0.34 carats, to seven linked graduating hearts all with an sun ray design and circular pierced backholing, followed by an articulated smooth snake link chain, terminating with a secure sprung , approximately 15" in length. 14 carat yellow , 'TIFFANY & CO.', numbered '117Z', American, 1950-1953, accompanied by IAJA Expertise report #XP2247-250225.

Chairman's Notes

This piece reflects the eras fascination with romance themed jewellery and heart motifs can be seen featured across a range of jewellery in Tiffany's sales catalogues in the early 1950s.

This piece was made in the workshops of McTeigue & Co, specialists in the manufacture of diamond jewellery since 1895. Based in New York, they used to trade under the name 'Walter P. McTeigue, Inc.' Some of their other clients included renowned American jewellers such as J.E. Caldwell and Black, Starr & Frost. In 1990, they were bought by Tiffany & Co.
