An circular plaque ornately carved with the heraldic badge of H.R.H Albert Edward, Prince of Wales, which feature three ostrich feather plumes encircled by a royal coronet to centre, the motto 'Ich Dien', (I serve), and engraved to outer edge 'Albert Edward 1875', inscribed to reverse 'Bombay November 9th', fitted to reverse with a secure hinge pin, approximately 2.5cm in width. This piece, originally part of a cufflink set, has been later adapted to be worn as a brooch.
Provenance: Presented to Joseph Julius Kanné, Queen Victoria's courier, by H.R.H Albert Edward, Prince of Wales (later Edward VII), for his services to the Prince during the Royal Tour of India in 1875. Thence by family descent.
