Pink Ceylon sapphire and diamond flanked solitaire ring. Set to centre with one oval old cut natural unenhanced pink Ceylon sapphire, with a weight of 1.58 carats in an open back half rubover setting, flanked by six rectangular baguette cut diamonds in open back rubover channel settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.30 carats, to an impressive flanked solitaire design with polished edges, a pierced gallery with chenier detail and fancy open backholing, the raised shoulders leading to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, circa 1970, accompanied by The Gem & Pearl Laboratory report #16509.
