Description

Georgian diamond cluster ring. Set to centre with a drop shape rose cut diamond in a closed back grain setting with an approximate weight of 0.50 carats, encircled by eight triangular rose cut diamonds in grain and cut-down settings with a combined weight of 0.70 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.20 carats, to a drop shape cluster design featuring curving claws, an opaque gallery and an elaborately gadrooned back with closed backholing, leading to shoulders with decorative carvings and flowing through to a tapering ridged D-shape shank with pierced crescent moon motifs. Tested yellow gold and silver, English, circa 1770.
