Vintage colour change Ceylon sapphire ring. Set to centre with a single cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced colour change Ceylon sapphire, blue in daylight, purple in incandescent light in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 5.59 carats, flanked by eight round eight cut diamonds in open back grain and millegrain settings with an approximate combined weight of 0.16 carats, to a flanked solitaire design featuring curving split claws, an intricately pierced gallery with a foliate motif and open backholing, leading to gently sloping shoulders, flowing through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, circa 1950, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5775-1190.
