Description

Burmese ruby five stone ring. Horizontally set with a graduated row of five cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced Burmese rubies in open back claw settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.90 carats, to an elegant five stone design, featuring stylised claws, an intricately carved gallery with scrolling motifs and fancy open backholing, the trumpeting shoulders with carved detail leading through to a solid D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat yellow gold, maker's mark 'S.B & S LD' for S. Blanckensee & Son ltd, full hallmarks for Birmingham, English, circa 1864, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5783-1544.
