Antique old mine diamond cluster ring. Centrally set with a cushion shape old mine diamond in an open back claw setting with a weight of 1.15 carats, set at the cardinal points with four cushion shape old mine diamonds in open back claw settings with a combined weight of 0.50 carats, further decorated with eight round rose cut diamonds in closed back cut down settings with a combined weight of 0.08 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 1.73 carats, to an elegant openwork cluster with a symmetrical scalloped frame, curving claws, intricately pierced open gallery, and shaped backholing, flanked by raised tri-part scrolling shoulders which lead to a ridged solid shank. Tested gold with silver settings, circa 1890.
