Antique marquise sapphire and diamond coronet cluster ring. Set to centre with a marquise shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back grain setting with an approximate weight of 2.88 carats, encircled by a single row of round old single cut diamonds of varying sizes and further set to the shoulders, twenty six in total with an approximate combined weight of 0.75 carats in open back grain settings with fine rubover edging, to an elegant marquise shape cluster with an ornate openwork gallery, intricate pierced backholing and fancy engraving to the shoulders, tapering down to a solid shaped shank. Tested yellow gold with platinum settings, circa 1910.
