Vintage sapphire and diamond bombé cluster ring. Set to the centre with one cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with an approximate weight of 4.00 carats, further set with twenty two round eight cut diamonds in closed back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 0.22 carats, to a striking bombé cluster design featuring a relief starburst bezel, engraved detailing and stylized claws, flowing to wide flat trumpeting shoulders with etched patterns and leading to a solid wide D-shape shank. Marked 18 carat white gold, circa 1970, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #79186-61.
