Set with a round old cut diamond in an open backrubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.75 carats, diagonally set with an oval old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back rubover setting with an approximate weight of 0.60 carats, further enhanced with eight round old cut diamonds in open back grain settings with a combined weight of 0.20 carats. The total approximate diamond weight is 0.95 carats, to an elegant crossover design with finely polished borders and intricately shaped backholing, the diamond set shoulders curve to a solid D-shapeshank. Marked 18 carat gold, maker's mark 'M & M', French, circa 1940.
