Decorative gold wirework ring. A smoothly conforming yellow gold band, with a fine looping wirework central panel, bordered to top and bottom with a ribbed edge, approximately 6mm in width. Tested yellow gold, approximately 2.9g in weight, circa 2nd-3rd century AD, accompanied by an Oxford Labs X-ray fluorescence report stating the composition of the metal.
This is a museum quality ring, and a very fine example of Ancient Roman craftsmanship, showcasing several highly technical goldworking techniques.
