Description

Art Deco sapphire and diamond ring. Set centrally with a cushion shape old cut natural unenhanced sapphire in an open back claw setting with a weight of 1.60 carats, flanked by two rectangular baguette cut natural unenhanced sapphires in open back rubover settings with a combined weight of 0.30 carats, encircled by a single row of round old cut diamonds, further diamonds to the shoulders, all twenty in open back grain settings with a combined approximate weight of 1.00 carats. The total approximate sapphire weight is 1.90 carats, to an attractive openwork cluster with cheniers to the gallery and intricate pierced backholing, the gently sloping shoulders leading smoothly down to a solid D-shape shank. Marked platinum, French, circa 1925, accompanied by Gemmological Certification Services report #5575-2208.
